The national car Muras enters the 2nd stage of construction – Tazabek

Tazabek — The first national Muras automobile plant in Tokmok is moving to the second stage of construction. The Central Asia Capital direct investment fund project is secured by an investment agreement with the Cabinet of Ministers for 3.5 billion soms, and the Eurasian Economic Commission called automobile assembly in Kyrgyzstan one of the most striking examples of industrial cooperation in the EAEU. Engineering surveys have been completed at the site and the preliminary design is ready. At the same time, the foundation team went to Togliatti for a closed presentation of the new Lada Azimut car to see how AvtoVAZ assembles cars using the technology on which Muras will work.

At AvtoVAZ, the foundation’s delegation met with the president of the concern and top managers, checked the launch schedule and walked through the workshops where Lada is assembled.

Kyrgyzstan needs its own automobile plant to renew its vehicle fleet. At the beginning of 2026, only 4.5% of cars in the country are under five years old. The concept of the national car Muras involves the assembly of new cars in the country by Kyrgyzstanis, based on AvtoVAZ technology.

The car plant is being built on the territory of the Central Asia Hub industrial park in Tokmok. The industrial park is part of the structure of the Central Asia Capital fund, which has been operating in Kyrgyzstan since 2018. During this time, the fund and its residents transferred 511 million soms in taxes to the country’s budget.

By 2035, it is planned to create up to 1.5 thousand jobs for Kyrgyzstanis. First, the plant will launch large-scale assembly, and then move on to the localization stage.

The plant is being built under an investment agreement with the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic. The document provides for 3.5 billion soms of investment. It is planned to produce from 3 thousand cars per year until 2031, and to increase production volume to 8 thousand cars per year until 2036. At the third stage, it is planned to transition to a full cycle with a capacity of up to 20 thousand vehicles per year, with over 30% of components planned to be produced in Kyrgyzstan.

The project is being implemented within the framework mechanism of industrial cooperation of the EAEUwhich supports joint productions with the participation of companies from at least three countries of the Union. At the Eurasian Economic Commission called localization of auto production in Kyrgyzstan is one of the most striking examples of such cooperation.

At the site in Tokmok, engineering-geological and hydrogeological surveys have been completed, and a design of wells for autonomous water supply to the plant has been prepared. The preliminary design is finalized for sending to the architectural authorities.

Central Asia Capital is preparing a memorandum on the development of human resources in the automotive industry with two colleges in Tokmok. Students will have the opportunity to learn the professions of car assembler and mechanic, as well as undergo practical training in a real automobile production facility. The Central Asia Hub industrial park said that already this year the first two study groups of students will be formed.
