Tazabek — Kyrgyzstan proposed that Iraq issue multiple-entry driver’s visas for a period of one year to international cargo carriers, the Ministry of Transport and Communications said in a statement following a meeting between Deputy Minister K. Turganbaev and Charge d’Affaires of Iraq in Kazakhstan Jaber Al-Temimi on September 17.
Currently, citizens of Kyrgyzstan apply for Iraqi visas in Astana, and the visa is issued only for a single entry.
There is no bilateral agreement on international road transport between countries. The Kyrgyz side prepared a draft of such an agreement and sent it to the Iraqi side for consideration.
The parties also discussed the development of transport routes from Kyrgyzstan to Iraq through Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran.
